Cognizant + Queen

PROJECT DETAILS

Cognizant is a digital tech services company with 300,000 employees around the globe. During my six-year engagement with the company, I helped launch the company's first-ever intranet and populated it with high-quality content.

One of my favorite projects was Queen's You Are the Champions campaign. The band selected Cognizant Interactive to produce new music videos to three of their classic songs using fan-generated content. I promoted the initiative within the company and even submitted a video entry of my own. (That's me at the 2:31 mark playing air guitar in front of a mountain.)

Cognizant Interactive is teaming up with Queen (yes, that Queen).

The rock band Queen is legendary, groundbreaking…and now officially a client. The band has selected Cognizant Interactive to produce new music videos to three of their classic songs using fan-generated content.

The You Are the Champions campaign celebrates Queen’s song “Bohemian Rhapsody” surpassing one billion views on YouTube. It also gives Cognizant the chance to demonstrate what we do best—creating compelling video content and programming.

According to Executive Producer Dylan Edgar, the campaign is also an opportunity to embrace inclusivity on a global scale.

“It’s really the best-case version of a user-generated campaign, because anyone of any age can participate from anywhere in the world,” he says. “Being able to represent fans of all kinds feels pretty special.”

For over 10 years, Cognizant Interactive has been helping our clients connect and engage with their customers through honest, engaging and visually stunning content. They’ve also allowed us to provide a complete range of digital content services that includes video development and distribution.

So…want to be in a Queen video?

Here’s your chance. As part of the campaign, musicians, singers, and instrumentalists can take on Bohemian Rhapsody. Visual artists will get the chance to design any word or phrase from the lyrics of A Kind of Magic. And, finally, dancers will be able to give their own interpretations for Don't Stop Me Now, with a special instructional video created by Polly Bennett (Rami Malek’s movement coach from the hit film, Bohemian Rhapsody).

"To see that our work has inspired folks all around the world to create their own performances and visual art is a thrill."
